Bhagya Suktam is one of the important suktas of Rigveda, which is composed to explain the fate and its effect on human life. It is a special text in the Sukta Vedas depicting the relationship between God, nature and man. Its main objective is to explain the importance of karma, effort and divine compassion in life.

In Bhagya Suktam it is explained that a man’s fortune is not only the result of divine grace or coincidence, but is also the result of his actions and efforts. This sukta inspires to maintain balance in human life and tries to explain that fate should not be passively accepted.

Bhagya Suktam presents the idea that fate and karma are closely related. If a man does good deeds while walking on the right path, his destiny is also positive. This sukta teaches us that fortune is made in our own hands and we should keep doing good deeds.

ō-mprā̠tara̠gni-mprā̠tarindrag̍ṃ havāmahē prā̠tarmi̠trā varu̍ṇā prā̠tara̠śvinā̎ ।
prā̠tarbhaga̍-mpū̠ṣaṇa̠-mbrahma̍ṇa̠spati̍-mprā̠ta-ssōma̍mu̠ta ru̠dragṃ hu̍vēma ॥ 1 ॥
prā̠ta̠rjita̠-mbha̍gamu̠gragṃ hu̍vēma va̠ya-mpu̠tramadi̍tē̠ryō vi̍dha̠rtā ।
ā̠ddhraśchi̠dya-mmanya̍mānastu̠raśchi̠drājā̍ chi̠dya-mbhaga̍-mbha̠kṣītyāha̍ ॥ 2 ॥
