Devi Kshama Prarthana Stotram In English

Devi Kshama Prarthana Stotram is a powerful Sanskrit hymn dedicated to Goddess Durga or the Divine Mother (Devi). The word Kshama means forgiveness, and Prarthana means prayer. This stotram is a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, wherein the devotee seeks absolution for any mistakes, sins, or lapses in devotion while worshipping the Goddess. It is often recited at the end of Devi worship, especially during Navratri and other festivals dedicated to the Divine Mother.

When to Recite Devi Kshama Prarthana Stotram?

  • After completing daily puja or any Devi-related worship.
  • At the end of Durga Saptashati recitation.
  • During Navratri, especially on the last day as a concluding prayer.
  • Whenever one feels they have made mistakes in devotion or rituals.

aparādha sahasrāni kriyante aharnisham mayā
dāsoayamiti mām matvā prasīd parameshwari.1

āvāhanam na jānāmi na jānāmi visarjanam
pujām chaiva na jānāmi kshamyatām parameshwari.2

mantrahinam kriyāhinam bhaktihinam sureshwari
yatpūjitam mayā devi paripūrna tadastu me.3

aparādha shatam kritvā jagadmabeti choch-charēt
yām gatim samavāpnoti na tām brahmādayā surāh.4

sāparādho asmi sharanm prāptastvām jagadambike
idānim anukampyo aham yathech-chhasi tathā kuru.5

agyānādwismrite-r-bhrāntyā yannyūnam adhikam kritam
tatsarvam kshamyatām devi prasīd sureshwari.6

kāmeshwari jaganmātah sachchidānanda vigrahe
grihānārchāmimām prītya prasīda parameshwari .7

guhyāti guhyagoptrī tvam grihānāsma kritam japam
siddhirbhavatu me devi tvat-prasādāt-sureshwari .8
